Job Title: Scaffolder
Description
The role of a Scaffolder is one of the most vital positions in the construction and industrial sectors. Scaffolders are responsible for assembling, erecting, and dismantling scaffolding structures that provide safe platforms for workers performing tasks at various heights. This job plays a crucial role in ensuring safety and accessibility on worksites, particularly during building, maintenance, and repair projects. In industries such as oil and gas, power, and infrastructure, scaffolders are indispensable for supporting operations that involve elevated or hard-to-reach areas. Their work directly contributes to the efficiency and safety of construction teams, allowing engineers, welders, and other technicians to carry out their duties effectively and securely.
Key Responsibilities
A professional Scaffolder’s main duty is to set up scaffolding systems according to the project’s technical and safety specifications. This includes interpreting blueprints, measuring areas for precise installation, and using pipes, clamps, and fittings to construct sturdy platforms. Scaffolders must inspect scaffolding structures daily to ensure they meet safety standards and are free from damage or instability. They are also responsible for dismantling scaffolding safely once the project phase is completed. In addition, scaffolders assist other workers in positioning heavy materials and tools, ensuring all scaffolds are correctly anchored and leveled. Since the job involves working at great heights, attention to detail and a strong understanding of safety regulations are essential. Scaffolders also collaborate closely with safety officers and engineers to maintain full compliance with company and Aramco safety codes.
Skills and Knowledge
To qualify as a Scaffolder, candidates must possess a thorough understanding of construction practices, load-bearing limits, and safety procedures. Practical experience—preferably five years or more—is highly valued, especially on large industrial projects. Candidates applying for this position must have an Aramco Vendor Code, as it is a strict requirement for working on Aramco-affiliated sites. They must also hold a valid TUV certification and ensure all required documents, such as Absher Iqama, Passport, Muqeem, Body Fitness Report, Vendor Copy, and CR Copy, are up to date and in color. A Scaffolder should be physically fit, capable of lifting heavy materials, and comfortable working at elevated heights. Strong teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to safety are essential traits. Good communication skills also help scaffolders coordinate effectively with supervisors and crew members, ensuring smooth project execution.
