Key Responsibilities
The Pipe Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing piping systems used in oil, gas, and petrochemical plants. Their work includes reading blueprints, measuring pipe dimensions, cutting and threading pipes, and ensuring leak-free installations. Work Permit Receivers (WPRs) act as safety coordinators, ensuring that all work is performed under approved permits and in compliance with site regulations. They verify safety conditions, communicate with supervisors, and ensure that teams work within authorized zones. Firewatchers and Standby Men are the front-line safety personnel who monitor hot work activities, maintain fire safety equipment, and stay alert to prevent potential hazards.
