WELDERs

Description

The position of a Multi Welder is one of the most critical roles in the construction and engineering industry, particularly in large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. Multi Welders are highly skilled professionals responsible for joining metal components using various welding techniques such as SMAW, GTAW, and MIG/TIG. Their work ensures the structural integrity, durability, and safety of metal frameworks, pipelines, and machinery. In major industrial developments like the Amiral Project, welders play a vital role in ensuring that all welded structures meet high technical and safety standards, which are essential for the project’s long-term success. This role demands precision, technical expertise, and adherence to international welding codes.

Key Responsibilities

The Multi Welder is responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding process for each task. The job involves preparing materials, setting up welding equipment, and executing high-quality welds on pipes, plates, and structural steel. Welders must perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure accuracy and conformity with project standards. Safety is a top priority; therefore, welders are expected to follow all safety procedures and wear protective gear during operations. Additionally, the role includes maintaining equipment, identifying potential defects, and collaborating with supervisors and engineers to ensure that all welding works align with the project’s technical requirements. On large projects like Amiral, welders may also participate in hydrostatic testing, fabrication, and repair works.

Skills and Knowledge

To excel as a Multi Welder, candidates must possess advanced knowledge of different welding techniques and materials. Practical experience in ARC, TIG, MIG, and FCAW welding is essential, along with the ability to work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials. A strong understanding of welding symbols, codes (such as ASME and AWS), and quality standards is also required. Candidates should demonstrate excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Previous experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial construction projects is highly preferred. A valid Aramco or Sadara approval will be an added advantage. Communication skills and teamwork are equally important, as welders often work in coordination with other trades to complete large-scale fabrication works safely and efficiently.
