6GR Welder, Multi Welder CS ,Piping Fabricator, WPR ,Rigger III

Description

A 6GR Welder is a highly specialized professional responsible for performing welding tasks in the 6G/6GR pipe position, which requires welding pipes at a fixed angle. This role is critical in industries such as construction, oil and gas, and heavy engineering, where high-quality, precision welds are necessary to ensure structural integrity and safety. The welder’s work contributes directly to project success, preventing leaks, structural failures, and downtime in operations. In Saudi Arabia, where large-scale industrial projects are ongoing, 6GR welders are in high demand due to their technical expertise and adherence to international welding standards such as those set by Aramco.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a 6GR welder is to execute pipe welds with precision and efficiency according to project specifications. This includes reading blueprints, assessing pipe alignment, and ensuring proper fit-up before welding. Welders must select the correct electrodes and maintain welding equipment, while constantly monitoring quality to avoid defects. Compliance with safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. In addition, welders collaborate closely with engineers and other team members to ensure that work meets project deadlines and quality standards. Conducting post-weld inspections and documenting weld reports are also part of the daily responsibilities.

Skills and Knowledge

A successful 6GR welder must have advanced technical skills and extensive practical experience in welding pipes in fixed positions. Mastery of welding techniques such as GTAW, SMAW, or FCAW is essential. Welders must understand metallurgy, heat control, and proper electrode handling. Physical stamina, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining consistent weld quality. Candidates are expected to possess certifications such as an Aramco JCC Card and Ajeer registration, demonstrating compliance with Saudi industry standards. Additional knowledge of safety procedures, blueprint reading, and welding codes significantly enhances the welder’s value.
