These roles are essential to ensuring the smooth execution of planned maintenance, repair, and inspection activities during a plant shutdown. Each position—Pipe Fitter, Fire Watch, WPR, and Mechanical Helper—plays a vital part in maintaining safety, efficiency, and technical precision. Key Responsibilities

Pipe Fitters are responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems that transport fluids and gases within the plant. They interpret blueprints and specifications, measure and cut pipes, and ensure leak-proof connections. Fire Watch personnel play an equally crucial role by monitoring welding, cutting, and other hot work activities to prevent fire hazards, ensuring all safety equipment is readily available. Work Permit Receivers (WPR) coordinate between the work crew and safety officers to obtain and manage permits, ensuring all tasks comply with Ma’aden’s strict safety protocols. Mechanical Helpers provide essential support by preparing tools, assisting senior mechanics, and maintaining site cleanliness and organization. Together, these roles guarantee that shutdown operations are completed efficiently and safely within the given timeframe.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidates must possess solid technical knowledge and field experience relevant to their respective positions. Pipe Fitters should have strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in reading piping diagrams, and hands-on experience with industrial tools and welding techniques. Fire Watch personnel must have in-depth knowledge of fire prevention procedures, emergency response, and the ability to remain alert under pressure. WPRs should understand work permit systems, hazard identification, and coordination with safety and operations teams.
