A Multi Welder (Carbon Steel) plays an essential role in the industrial and construction sectors, particularly in large-scale oil, gas, and infrastructure projects. This position involves working with a range of welding techniques to join and fabricate metal components made from carbon steel. Key Responsibilities
The Multi Welder (CS) is responsible for executing high-quality welding tasks across various components and structures. Their duties include reading and interpreting blueprints, understanding welding symbols, and preparing materials according to specifications. They perform welding using multiple techniques such as SMAW, GTAW, and MIG, ensuring that all welds comply with project and safety requirements. The role involves inspecting and testing completed welds, repairing defects, and maintaining proper documentation of welding activities. Additionally, welders are expected to collaborate with supervisors, fabricators, and safety officers to ensure all work aligns with technical and safety standards. In long-term projects like those at ESHARAQA Contracting, Multi Welders also assist in equipment maintenance and support continuous improvement initiatives within the welding department.
Skills and Knowledge
A successful Multi Welder must possess in-depth knowledge of carbon steel properties, welding methods, and quality control procedures. The ideal candidate should have a Running Card and prior experience working under company FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) conditions. Proficiency in both manual and semi-automatic welding is essential, along with the ability to handle various positions, including 6G, which requires welding on pipes at challenging angles. Candidates should have sound physical fitness, steady hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail. Understanding safety protocols, the ability to use protective equipment, and familiarity with industrial standards such as ASME and AWS codes are critical. Strong teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality workmanship are highly valued in this role.
